Ten: Molik wins bronze in tennis in Athens

Australia's ALICIA MOLIK says she'll cherish her bronze medal for the rest of her life,
after becoming the first Australian tennis player to win an Olympic medal in singles.

The 23-year-old defeated five others on her way to the medal podium in Athens.

However MARK PHILIPPOUSSIS was nowhere near as successful, crashing out in the first round.

He hopes to reverse his form slump at the US Open, starting tomorrow.

LLEYTON HEWITT had opted out of the Olympics to focus solely on his US Open preparation.
